Our health system encompasses two hospital locations in Robbinsdale and Maple Grove as well as a network of 25 clinics which includes 13 primary clinics, 6 specialty clinics, 4 urgent care/urgency centers and emergency care offerings covering five counties. About this position
Provides advanced life support care to the sick and injured and safely transports customers of all ages to a medical facility. In addition, the paramedic assists with other services and events as directed by North Memorial Ambulance Service.
Requirements
Education
Education • Successfully completed paramedic training program from an accredited institution required. • Associate of Science degree preferred.
Experience
Experience • Previous ambulance experience preferred. • Previous advanced life support experience preferred. • For Air Care Paramedics, three (3) years of ALS experience as a Paramedic required. • For Air Care Paramedics, prior flight experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, make decisions during emergency situations and work independently. • Possess or quickly acquire knowledge of the street and highway system within the service area.
Licensure/Certification
Ground Paramedic Requirements • Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. • American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or Amercian Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. • Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record. • American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS Certification. • ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
Air Care Paramedic Requirements • Current Minnesota Paramedic Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date. • Current Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. • National Registered Paramedic. • American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. • Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 12 months from date of hire. • American Heart Association and American Red Cross PALS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. • ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. • Maximum weight of 215 pounds in uniform. • Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
